Japanese Counter 1階 (ikkai)

The counter 1階 is used for counting: 1st floor (building levels) (Category: 階 (kai/gai) - Floors of a building, JLPT N4). 一 (ichi) contracts with 階 (kai) to form 'ikkai' (double consonant sokuon sound change).
